Why is it important for Sunday School to take a summer recess?
- This summer, we want to focus on families worshiping together at the 9:30AM service. Throughout the summer, the 9:30AM liturgy will embrace different family-centered experiences. For example, one Sunday the sermon will be a children's homily. Another Sunday, the hymns might be children's hymns. Another Sunday, we will offer an instructed Eucharist.
- Our Sunday School volunteers need an opportunity for sabbath and to be present more regularly in the Sunday services. The Sunday School volunteers have been working very hard throughout the year; but, also have missed a great deal of time in worship. The recess will enable the entire 'Ohana to experience the wholeness of Sunday worship.
- This summer we will be reworking the Sunday School experience and volunteerism. Our Keiki are the future of the Church! Offering a quality Sunday School program is essential to our Church's mission and vision. As our Church continues to grow so will our Sunday School . . . As our Sunday School continues to grow, so will our Church.
This is a wonderful opportunity to share with our keiki the beauty and reverence of Sunday worship. Invite, embrace, educate, and empower the next generation of the Church to experience the Word and Sacrament of Christ.
On Sunday, August 7, 2016 All Saints' will launch a whole new Sunday School experience and we will need your help! Stay tuned for details--a letter to the whole 'Ohana will be sent out next week and reprinted in The Epistle.
The nursery will be available to all families, but will not be staffed by volunteers--a parent/guardian will be expected to stay with their child in the nursery. Currently, the nursery provides an audio feed of the service and we hope soon to also have a live video feed of the service available in the nursery.
