SUNDAY SCHOOL

Program and Curriculum Overview:
Sunday School is available for keiki 3 years old through 5th grade.

PHILOSOPHY
At All Saints' we believe the keiki (children) are the future of the Church!
We are called by God to support, nurture, and empower their future in the Church! This is a responsibility that is to be shared by the whole congregation, not just by a few individuals, and not just by the parents/guardians of our current keiki. We are guided by the "Children's Charter" of the Episcopal Church.

Through our Sunday School program, All Saints' hope and vision is that each child entrusted to our care:
  1. Grows to love God--God the creator, God--the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.
  2. Learns the sacred stories of the Christian faith.
  3. Explores the deeper questions of life and faith and demonstrates a willingness to be inquisitive, ask questions, and seek out answers.
  4. Respects the beauty and diversity of God's people and the many faith traditions, theologies, and philosophies of thought throughout God's creation.
  5. Develops their own spiritual identity nurtured in the Word and Sacrament of the Church.

WHEN SUNDAY SCHOOL OCCURS
All Saints' Sunday School meets in Memorial Hall during our Sunday 9:30AM service. The conclusion of Sunday School coincides with the "exchange of peace" in our worship. Sunday School students join their families for the celebration of Holy Eucharist.
OUR CURRICULUM
All Saints' utilizes Weaving God's Promises as the foundation of our Sunday School curriculum. Weaving God’s Promises is a comprehensive, three-year Christian education curriculum for children developed and written exclusively for the Episcopal Church. It is a program with a shared scope and sequence as well as common Episcopal content.

The "Mission" of Weaving God's Promises:
  1. To teach children how God’s promises of salvation are woven into our lives.
  2. To teach children the way of Christ, not only in the church but also in the world as Christ’s ambassadors.
  3. To give children a solid grounding for future youth and high-school formation programs, which prepares them for Christian adulthood.
  4. To foster the spiritual formation and growth of our children in Christ’s love and mercy and to teach the spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation
